Reports that former president Peter Muthalika and his spouse Gertrude might soon be arrested have sent followers of Democratic progressive party (DPP) into early preparations of anarchy, akometsi have established.
Informants within the blue camp have confided in us that cadets will not allow any embarrassment to be put on their ‘Adadi’ and the former first lady.
According to reliable sources in Mzuzu, cadets in northern region are always conducting meetings in readiness of the day Muthalika will be arrested by the Malawi police.
Similar caucuses are, according to the whistleblower, being held in all the regions of the country.
Muthalika who was recently interrogated by the law enforcement agents on his involvement in procurement of cement from Zambian amounting to MK5 billion pleaded ignorant on the issue.
Nonetheless, other revelations indicate that Muthalika may be pounced on and charged on counts relating to fraud.
On the other hand, police Intel have confided in akometsi that Former first lady, Gertrude Muthalika and her son, Tadikila are on the wanted list.
According the insiders at area 30 police headquarters, the two are being hunted on allegations of corruption and money laundering.
Since the ushering in of new administration under Tonse alliance, led by Lazarus Chakwera, there has been crackdown on people suspected to have plundered public treasures during the preceding government which was under DPP, led by Peter Muthalika.
The arrests are described by the members of DPP as political witch hunting and unjustified.
In a follow up interview on plans by DPP cadets to cause unrest in the country, the party’s spokesman Nicholas Dausi described the claims as mere speculations.
He emphasized that his party believes in peace and rule of law and reports that they’re preparing to wreak havoc in the country are not true.
