United Transformation Movement (UTM) Regional Governor for the North Leonard Njikho has stepped down as he wants to focus on his investments.
Speaking in a telephone interview Njikho confirmed the resignation saying now that Tonse alliance won, it is time to focus on his businesses.
“It was difficult for me to do the work as RG at the same time take care of my family and my business. Now that we have won, we have achieved our goal and somebody can take over”, said Njikho
However he said he is still UTM and he will keep supporting the party when need arises.
“I will still remain a supporter and a subscriber to the ideals of the party and I’m still in love with my party”, Said Njikho.
He further dismissed rumors circulating on social media that he has dumped the party following bad cultural practices in the party of hating people from the North.
Njikho is a former member of parliament for mzuzu city who won the seat as an independent candidate then later joined the DPP a year later and dumped it for UTM before the 2019 election.
