President Lazarus Chakwera earlier today landed in Lusaka, Zambia where he was on a one-day official visit.
This is Chakwera’s first-ever trip to a foreign land since his ascension to presidency in June this year, and a Malawian Airline flight carrying him and the First Lady, Madame Monica Chakwera, landed at Kenneth Kaunda airport at exactly 9:05 am.
Upon arrival, Chakwera was welcomed by Malawi’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Eisenhower Mkaka and Zambian government officials.
The President was privileged to a guard of honour mounted by the Zambian defence force, with a 21-gun salute.
The President visited the Hero’s Acre where he held bilateral talks with President Edgar Lungu.
