The Japanese second hand car dealer, Beforward Limited has officially come out to announce that they will part ways with one of the country’s football giants, Beforward Wanderers in December this year.
Confirming the development Wanderers chairman, Symon Sikwese says the team has received a letter from the company alerting them about the move.
“We have finally received a communication from Beforward that they will be no longer funding Wanderers football club come 31st December 2020,” Said Sikwese
Sikwese has since added that they have partnered with supporters of the blue army in income generating activities to sustain the club as they look for other potential sponsors.
“We foresaw the move coming and now we want to mobilize all Wanderers supporters in the country to be contributing a minimum of one hundred kwacha per month that will be running the affairs of the club,” he said.
The team also plans to utilize the Club house to make ends meet for the club.
Wanderers has more than one million supporters in the country.
Beforward Limited started bankrolling Wanderers football club in 2015 and during their reign they helped the nomads win accolades one of those being the league championship in 2017 which was their first since 2006.
