Malawi Electoral Commission MEC ballots papers for by – elections arrived in the country yesterday through Kamuzu International Airport KIA.
Political party representatives and stakeholders beared witness to the dispatching of the consignment.
Speaking to the press MEC commissioner , Jean Mathanga said the ballots papers were expected to go straight to the appropriate district councils .
On Thursday, MEC chairperson Dr Chifundo Kachale issued threats to call off Karonga central by – elections saying there are growing acts of violence and intimidation between Malawi Congress Party MCP supporters and United Transformation Movement UTM.
The elections are expected to take place on 10 November at Karonga Central, Chikwawa East and Lilongwe North West.
