Malawi National Examination Board (MANEB) says it is set to administer examinations for Primary School Leaving certificate of education (PSLCE) from 30st September to 2nd October, the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) from 27th October to 20th November and Primary Teacher Certificate of Education (PTCE) from 1st December to 4th December 2020.
Confirming the development Maneb Executive Director, Gerald Chiunda said now the board is finalizing logistics for all personnel who will be involved in the administration of the examinations.
He further disclosed that the total number of registered candidates for PSLCE examinations is 302,968 and 68,100 and 54,146 for MSCE respectively.
“What we have done so far is even before the closure of schools on 23rd March, we had produced the examinations, so what we are doing now is processing allowances for invigilators, supervisors and security personnel, we have also sent out revised time tables to reflect on the new dates for the examinations that is for PSLCE and MSCE, we have also sent time tables for Primary Teacher education examinations,” Said Chiunda
He added that the students will be ready for the examinations as they have ample time to finalize the syllabus.
“The Ministry of Education has assured us that they have put in place mechanisms to ensure that all schools have additional classes and the schools are starting from 6 am and having a lengthy day such that by the end of the day all the candidates will have completed the syllabusses, now having reached that far we believe that the students will be prepared to write the examinations,” he said.
Government directed that schools reopen on September 7 after closure on March 23 in adherence to corona virus.
