The Zomba High Court has slapped Misozi Chanthunya a life imprisonment sentence for the murder of his 25-year-old Zimbabwean girlfriend Linda Gasa.
Judge Ruth Chinangwa derivered the rulling yesterday on Friday.
Chanthunya murdered Gasa in the year 2010, and her remains were exhumed at Mwala Lodge in Mangochi, owned by the convict.
Chanthunya has also been slapped with two years custodial sentence for the second count of hindering burial of a dead body.
On the charge of perjury, he has been sentenced to two years imprisonment.
Meanwhile, Chamthunya’s lawyer, Michael Goba Chipeta, has expressed dissatisfaction with the rulling, describing it as unfair.
He has therefore promised his client that he will appeal at the Supreme Court.
