Police in the central region district of Kasungu have expressed worry over increased cases of suicide.
According to Harry Namwaza, Kasungu Police Publicist, the district has registered eight suicide cases in the last few months.
“I can confirm that Kasungu has registered eight cases of suicide, where the victims chose to do so on various grounds ranging from debts, family matters to financial constraints,” lamented Namwaza.
Namwaza urged people in the district to explore other avenues of dealing with their problems other than opting to end their lives.
“Having seen this, we, as police, wish to express grief over the action, and in the process advise people not to rush into doing that whenever they have crucial issues disturbing them.”
A recent suicide issue in Kasungu was the shocking case of a teenage boy who eliminated his life after being reprimanded by his mother for beating his young brother.
