First Lady Monica Chakwera on Sunday donated assorted items to Mkondawako Samson, a lady who gave birth to twins with a condition of acute malnutrition.

Macduff Phiri, the chief advisor to the first lady made the donation on behalf of the first lady at Salima district hospital where Samson and the two babies are hospitalized.

According to Phiri the move by the first lady was inspired by the calls for help which were made known to her through the social media about the critical condition Samson and her babies, Chisomo and Chimwemwe were going through.

On her behalf, Samson hailed the first lady for the kind gesture which she says is timely in improving the state of affairs in her life and the children.

The donation includes K200 000 cash, nappies, blankets, wrappers, face masks, salt, clothes, bags of maize and beans, sobo squash, sugar and milk formula.

Recently, outspoken musician Patience Namadingo also made a donation to the Salima based woman
