Six officials at the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) have tested positive to Corona virus, Akometsi understands.
Sam Alfandika who is MEC’s Chief Elections Officer has made the revelation in a statement released.
This has prompted the electoral body to temporarily close all its offices in.
The closure is aimed at disinfecting the offices, and the Blantyre City Council (BCC) will do the job.
Covid-19 cases continue to rise in the country, with latest active cases escalating to over 2,050, with 2 new deaths putting it at 109.
