Lilongwe magistrate court has finally granted bail to a business lady Dorothy Shonga also known as Cash madam and other 3 MERA officials.
Lilongwe chief magistrate, Violet Chipao ordered the team to provide surety of MK500 thousand each in cash and also two non-cash bonds of K5 million each.
As a requirement the suspects are supposed to report to police after everything two weeks, surrender their travel documents as well as not leaving Lilongwe without the knowledge of the police commissioner.
In addition, the suspect have been told to be readily available when needed and also to make sure they do not interfere with witnesses.
The three, Collings Magalasi who is MERA CEO, Patrick Maulidi is the MERA communications officer, Bright Mbewe, MERA procurement officer alongside Shonga were all arrested on issues to do with fraud and money laundering.
