Global warming has turned into everyone’s topic in the world and not sparing the warm heart of Africa, Malawi, which has also faced the music of the global new environmental pandemic.
The development has forced celebrated Lilongwe based singer Kelvin Jonathan Pangani who plys his trade as Joe Kellz to release a song titled “Nyengo” which is advocating for environmental issues in the country.
The sensantion musician who came to the limelight of the arts industry via his lead role at Zathu Band has made the song in response to United Nations Sustainable Goal Number 13 which calls for an urgent action towards climate change.
According to the versatile acoustic performer, Joe Kellz, musicians in the country have a role to play in advocating things that affects their society.
He added that the song also calls for unity in a fight to combat climate change.
“Climate change is a global challenge, it is real, the future of our planet is at stake. There is a need to advocate for such issues through music.” Said Joe Kellz.
Meanwhile, Malawi Scotland Partnership under its project Climate Change Young leaders project has endorsed the song to be used in all it’s activities.
Joe Kellz who is founder of Mphukira Band has produced the song along with Lilongwe based Sam Banda and D Wine Zamapemba which was released on 2nd October, 2020.
