Minister of Labour Ken Kandodo says government plans to establish job centres where job seekers can profile their qualifications and apply for jobs. He made the remark during a consultative meeting with Press Agriculture Limited in Kasungu this morning.
“We wished these job centres were established in all districts but for a start we will have these established in all the City and Municipal Councils, “he said.
Among the municipal councils to benefit are Kasungu, Karonga, Mangochi, and Luchenza in Thyolo.
Kandodo says the job centres will be operationalised before the end of this year and employers could use the window to acquire the much needed human resource.
“As government we expect the private sector to increase employment opportunities for our youths as part of the one Million job creation initiative,” added Kandodo.
Tonse Government promised to create 1 million jobs among Malawians who patiently wait for the fulfillment of this promise.
